Summary (official text)
Some 2026 Maverick hybrid vehicles built on or before 31-Aug-2026 may not be able to shift out of park and may exhibit an illuminated powertrain malfunction (wrench) indicator with diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) P097B, P272C and/or P2796 stored in the secondary on-board diagnostic module C (SOBDMC). This may be due to water intrusion in connector C105. Inspect connector C105 for corrosion, improper pin fitment, and/or loose terminals and repair as needed. Refer to Wiring Diagram Cell 151 for connector location and Cell 005 for repair procedures.

If a vehicle exhibits this condition, click on the "Submit Global Concern Report (GCR)" link at the upper right of the Professional Technician System (PTS) Vehicle ID screen (vehicle identification number [VIN] required) and fill out the form.
